This app uses your browser's built-in TTS engine. Microsoft Edge has 300+ premium voices — far better than Chrome or Firefox. To activate them:

▸Right-click anywhere on this page (not on a button or link)

▸Select Read aloud from the context menu

▸A reading toolbar appears at the top — click Voice options

▸Change the voice once to force Edge to load its full voice list

▸Close the toolbar, then click LOAD VOICES below

💡 This only needs to be done once per browser session. Voices stay available until you close the tab.

▸Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) at the bottom of Edge

▸Scroll down and tap Read aloud

▸Tap the voice name at the top to open voice selection

▸Change the voice once, then close Read Aloud

▸Tap LOAD VOICES below

▸Chrome & Firefox have limited voices (~5–15 depending on your OS)

SPEAKER TAG FORMAT (OPTIONAL)

Add character voices by tagging dialogue lines:

The detective stepped into the rain.

You shouldn't have come here alone.

Everything without a tag is read by Narrator. Each unique speaker name becomes its own character with its own voice.
